About
Allegri Ensemble’s first performance for 2021 is a meditative reflection on the rich Easter narrative of resurrection. The program includes Poulenc’s Timor et Tremor and Ave Verum Corpus; Surrexit Pastor Bonus by Renaissance master Jean L’Héritier; and Christ lag in Todes Banden, a wonderfully vigorous and virtuosic cantata by a youthful J. S. Bach.
Directed by Jonathan Wallis and accompanied by The Pillinger Quartet with Thomas Rimes (continuo).
